Set in a palm grove just outside Marrakech, few festivals can match Atlas Electronic in terms of setting. Following today’s line-up announcement, it’s fair to say not many can match it for musical offerings either.
After a successful 2017 event that witnessed sets from the likes of Floating Points and Fatima Yamaha (some of which can be heard here), this year’s Atlas Electronic festival brings another enticing batch of artists to the Moroccan desert. Names such as John Talabot and Ben UFO will sell plenty of tickets on their own, but the festival’s booking policy deserves plaudits for balancing these globally renowned big-hitters against a plethora of underground acts from across the world.
These include MusicMap favourites such as Ninos Du Brasil, Deena Abdelwahed and the Nyege Nyege Tapes crew, as well as local acts such as Aesthes, Groupe Bana, Generation Taragalte and Casablanca’s V.I.V. collective.
Check out the announcement video below, and head to the official website for tickets and more info. Or hit up SoundCloud to browse through the festival’s podcast series, which features guests from C. Love to Habibi Funk.
See you in Marrakech…
