When researching into new music from Asia we were surprised by the amount of great artists from Taiwan, most of them based in Taipei. Sonia Calico and rgry have been on our radar for some time now and their progression is unquestionable in terms of creativity and production. Kepfunk and henneysee represent the ’90s classic hip-hop sound while HengJones and Sonia Calico take the current sounds trending in urban music and make it their own, very effectively. It’s great to see how the internet and the explosion of urban music into the mainstream has inspired so many young artists worldwide.
